Extras

The other day, my friend Shecky told me his friend was directing a music video in LA "with Snoop Dogg" and needed extras for a poker scene, both to fill out the table and sort of consult on the look of the game. I was in.

The video was for a song by Doll Phace (f/ Snoop) called "Let's Go to Vegas." We waited for a while past his call time for Snoop to show up, reportedly because they needed to find him a vaporizer so he wouldn't set off the smoke alarms in the downtown building where the video was being shot.


All in all, unpaid extra work is not the most thrilling experience, but the man pictured above, left, has some real presence and seemed as smooth a character as you might expect. I wonder how often Snoop has to accommodate slack-jawed fans like me, who appear as extras in his videos and want to take a picture with the man while wearing what my friend identified as a goofy "tourist smile."
